From the Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents,

We will be starting Intervention Classes for third and fourth grades.  Classes run six weeks and students must attend all classes.  Students who scored below basic and far below basic on the CST will be invited to the Intervention Classes. This year Enrichment Classes will also run every six weeks so you can alternate between a session of intervention and a session of enrichment. 

Comments from the Fifth Grade Parent Survey from May 2008: Twenty-three out of sixty-eight surveys were returned. Comment: “My son would not be where he is today if it wasn’t for Skyblue Mesa and all you do.” “We would like to see more trash cans out on the yard.” Response: Our campus has never looked better.  The new MPR is providing a wind break which helps with trash blowing around.  Additionally, students have really taken pride in keeping their school clean. Comment: “Grounds are well kept.”  “The teachers are great and will always stick out in my son’s mind and heart.”

 

Autumn is here, so take time to enjoy the colors and smells of this season.

Save the Date

2008 is Saugus Union School District’s 100^th year.  Join all 15 schools for a Centennial Celebration on October 26^th at Bridgeport Park from 1:00 PM -4:00 PM.  The event will include booths sponsored by our schools, student entertainment and food vendors.  We hope you will all join us and be a part of history!

 

Looking for Skyblue Mesa Students

Are you a former student of Skyblue Mesa, or do you know someone who is? We are looking to put together a slide show of past students in a "Where are they now" format in celebration of our districts Centennial.  We need a picture from when they went to school, a current picture, as well as a small description of what job they now have.  Please drop off any information to Abby Peak or email her at apeak@saugus.k12.ca.us  by October 22nd.

.Reminder for Parents and Volunteers

Please remember all parents must sign in and get a visitor pass before coming on campus.  This is district policy and is for the safety of all students.

 

Cartridges for Kids

We are still collecting “Cartridges for Kids”.  In addition to the cartridges, we will be excepting video games, video games systems, digital cameras and cell phones.  Please drop off items in the school office.  Thank you.

Estimados Padres,

Nosotros vamos a empezar las clases de Intervencion para 3er y 4to grado.  Las clases van a durar  seis semanas y los estudiantes tienen que asistir a todas las clases.  Los estudiantes que hayan recibido bajas calificaciones o estén muy bajos de lo “básico” en CST nosotros vamos a invitarlos a las clases de Intervención.  Este ano clases de Enriquecimiento también duraran seis semanas. Ud. podrá alternar entre Intervencion y una sesión de Enriquecimiento. . 

Comentarios de la encuesta a Padres de Quinto Grado.  Mayo 2008: 23  de 68 fueron contestada. Comentario: “Mi hijo no estaría hoy donde esta si no fuera por Skyblue Mesa y todo lo que Uds. hacen.” “Nos gustaría ver mas latones de basura afuera en la yarda.” Respuesta: Nuestro campo nunca se a visto mejor.  El nuevo MPR provee la interrupción al viento que ayuda con la basura que vuela alrededor.  Adicionalmente, los estudiantes realmente han tomado con orgullo en mantener su escuela limpia. Comentario: “El campo esta muy cuidado.”  “Los maestros son excelente y siempre estarán en la mente y corazón de mi hijo.”

 

El Otoño ya esta aquí, tome su tiempo para disfrutar los colores y olores de esta estación.

Recordatorio de Asistencia

Si su estudiante esta ausente, no olvide llamar a la oficina o mandar una nota el día que el/ella regrese a la escuela.

 

Reserve la Fecha

El ano 2008 cumple 100 anos el Distrito Escolar de Saugus Unión.  Acompañe a las 15 escuelas para la Celebración del Centario en Octubre 26 en el Parque Bridgeport de 1:00 a 4:00 p.m.  El evento va a tener kioscos patrocinados por las escuelas, entretenimiento para los estudiantes y vendedores de comida.  Esperamos que Ud. se reúna con nosotros y sea parte de esta historia!

 

Entrenamiento sobre las Maquinas en la Oficina

Voluntarios no pueden usar las maquinas en la oficina si no han recibido entrenamiento. Wendy Mc Haddad va entrenar a padres interesados los Lunes a las 8:00am.

 

Recordatorio para Padres y Voluntarios

Por favor recuerden todos los padres tienen que firmar y tener un pase de visitante antes de entrar al campo.  Esto es una póliza del Distrito y es para la seguridad de todos los estudiantes.

 

Cartridges for Kids

Nosotros seguimos coleccionando “Cartridges for Kids.”  En adición a los cartridges, nosotros estamos aceptando juegos de video, sistemas de juego de video y cámaras digitales.  Por favor deje estos objetos en la Oficina de la escuela.  Muchas gracias.
