From the Principal’s Desk

We had a great first week of school. The teachers worked hard to have beautiful bulletin boards and centers ready.  Office staff has been working diligently to get class lists and student records in order.  Custodians have the school polished and shining.  Sandy Howard, PTO President, gave a great welcome and her team did a beautiful job with refreshments.  Sandy Howard had the Valet Drop Off in full swing. 

Test scores are in and Skyblue Mesa had another great year.  You will be receiving your child’s results at back to school night.

Well, we are off and running and hope you will jump in as partners.  These elementary years will fly by and they are probably the most crucial to your child’s success.  The Spaghetti Dinner was a huge success.  Your involvement really makes the difference.  Hope to see you all at Back to School Night!

Rashes in the School Setting

If any student comes to school with a rash of any kind, that student will be sent to the Health Office.  The student’s parent/guardian is then called to pick the student up from school.  That student may not return to school without a written note from a physician or other licensed health care practitioner stating the nature of the rash, that the rash is
non-communicable and/or that appropriate treatment has been given, if applicable.  We are trying to protect the health of all students and staff when we exclude students with potential communicable diseases.  No one at the
school site can diagnose what a particular rash might be.  Only a licensedmedical practitioner can diagnose.  Thank you for understanding.

Volunteer TB Test

The law requires that VOLUNTEERS who have contact with pupils on a regular basis have a valid Mantoux Skin Test (not a chest x-ray) to test for a lack of presence of tuberculosis.  If you are in contact with the children in your child’s classroom (or another classroom) as a part of your volunteer “assignment”, you must submit a negative Mantoux test to our school office for our records. 

 

Individuals with a documented positive skin test must present a certificate from a health provider that they are free of communicable disease at least every four years.  The health provider may or may not choose to use a diagnostic chest X-ray for people with previously known positive skin tests.

 

Mantoux tests are given locally by First Care on Soledad Canyon Road near Bouquet Junction, or by your physician.  The individual volunteer(s) must cover expense of the test, as the school district cannot cover the cost.

No Dogs on Campus

For the safety and health of our students and staff, dogs are not allowed on Skyblue Mesa’s campus, driveway, parking lot, or in front of the school.  This is mandated by the Saugus Union School District. Thank you.

Del Escritorio de la Principal

La primera semana de escuela ha sido maravillosa.  Los maestros trabajaron muy fuerte para tener los salones bellos y preparados para recibir a los niños.  Las trabajadoras de la oficina trabajaron dilijentemente para tener los listos de las clases y los records de los alumnos en orden.  Los custodians tienen la esuela pulida y brillante.  Sandy Howard, presidente del PTO, dio una gran bienvenida y sus ayudantes hicieron un buen trabajo con los refrescos.  Sandy Howard también tuvo la ayuda de cámara lista y preparada.  Los resultados de los exámenes llegaron y Skyblue Mesa tuvo otro ano espectacular.  Van a recibir los resultados de los exámenes que tuvieron sus hijos al fin del ano pasado en “La Noche de Regreso a Escuela.”  Estos anos elementales se van volando y probablemente son los mas importantes para el triunfó de sus hijos.  Su participación en todo relacionado en la esuela de su hijo hace la diferencia.  Espero verlos a todos en “La Noche de Regreso a Escuelas.”

Sarpullido en la Escuela

Si un estudiante viene a la escuela con algún tipo de erupción, el estudiante será mandado a la oficina de la enfermera.  El padre o guardián serán llamado de inmediatito para que venga a sacar el niño/a de la esuela.  El estudiante no puede regresar a la escuela si no trae una nota del doctor o otra persona calificada que tenga certificado de salud que indica que la erupción no es contagiosa.  También necesitamos una prueba que hable del tratamiento que se esta usando.  Nosotros tratamos de proteger la salud de los estudiantes y todo el personal que trabaja en la escuela.  Nadie en el consejo de la escuela puede diagnosticar enfermedades contagiosas.  Solamente un medico puede hacerlo.  Gracias por su cooperación.

Prueba de Tuberculosis para Voluntarios

La ley exige que personas que trabajen directamente con alumnos tiene que tener los resultados de Mantoux Skin Test (no un rayo x de los pulmones.)  Si vas a tener contacto con alumnas en cualquier clase, tenemos que tener prueba del resultado del Mantoux test.

Individuos que han recibido resultados positivos tiene que presentar el certificado de un proveedor de salud, (doctor) un certificado que indica que no tengas enfermedades contagiosas.  Esta prueba se tiene que hacer cada 4 anos.

Las pruebas de Matoux se dan localmente en First Care en la calle Soledad Canyon Road cerca de Bouquet Junction o por su doctor,  Voluntarios tiene que pagar por esta prueba.  El distrito no va pagar para estas pruebas.  Gracias.

 

Perros son Prohibidos en la Escuela

Para la seguridad y la salud de los alumnos y maestros los perros son prohibidos en la escuela de Skyblue Mesa.  Perros no pueden estar en el parqueo, en frente, ni en la entrada de la escuela.  Esta regla es una orden del Distrito de Saugus.  Gracias.
