 From the Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents,

Each May we do a parent survey to get feed back about our programs.  I have attached a copy of the survey and will respond to parent comments by grade level in the next few newsletters.  Kindergarten parent comment, “You need to fix the after school Valet Program.  There should be no parking on the side streets where cars wait to enter the school and there should be no left hand turn into the parking lot.”  Response: The sheriff designed the Valet Program.  There is no stopping, parking or pick up on Hardesty.  I will ask the sheriff to monitor this area.  There is parking along Aldbury.  There is no left hand turn into the parking lot at dismissal; however, left hand turns are permissible in the morning.  Parent comment, “We are very pleased with our daughter’s progress throughout her first year at Skyblue.  She is offered so much in school that I never had and she has learned so much.”

Teachers are completing their beginning of the year assessments.  I will be setting up Intervention Classes and Homework Club in the next couple of weeks.  Students will continue to have morning recess on the playground and lunch recess inside the air conditioned MPR.  PE classes are also held inside.  .  Grade level teachers plan together once a month and discuss student progress and upcoming units of instruction.

CROC SHOES and/or sandals to school.  Tennis shoes are appropriate.
